  • Q: When is registration? And where?

A:   Registration for fall is held in the spring before school gets out. The registration deadline is July 15, 2008. After that, registrations go onto a waiting list.
    Online:
Online registration instructions are sent to previous year players in April. You pre-register online, then mail in fees or pay online. Go to the Online Registration page for full directions and the starting link for online registration. When online registration is open a link to it is provided on the home page. Note: Online registration is only available during the registration period, roughly mid April to the beginning of the season.
    Walk-in:
There are normally 2 walk-in registration sessions in late spring for new players and returning players who can't register online. The walk-in registration for Fall 2008 will be held at Score! Palo Alto, in the Midtown Shopping Center, 2645 Middlefield Rd, Palo Alto as follows-:
    Friday, May 25-8 p.m.
    Saturday, May 310-12 a.m.

Q: What do I need to do to complete the online registration?

A:   Go to the Online Registration page for full directions and the starting link for online registration. More details are available on the registration page, and explanations are provided during the registration process.

Q: What if I do not have Internet access?

A:   You can come to the walk-in registration mentioned in When is registration? If you miss the walk-in registration you can use a library computer, a friend's or neighbor's computer.

Q: What if I don't have an account?

A:   You can create your account in WebYouthSoccer. If aren't sure if you have an account, the system offers a lookup to see if it has a record of you. Please don't create a new account if you can't remember your user name or password. That will result in confusion with your child's records and delay registration.

    Q: What are the costs?

A:   Before June 30 the early registration fee is $95 per child. After July 1st, the registration fee per child is $150. The fee for the Under-6 program is $40.

    Q: Are scholarships available?

A:   Yes, scholarships are available for players who need help with the fees. Speak to the registrar, Avivit Katzir. .

    Q: Can I pay electronically?

A: Yes, you can pay registration fees using the PayPal online payment service. You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay your AYSO registration fees through PayPal. Payment may also be made by mailing in a check. Specific instructions for online and check payment are included in the registration process.-->

Q: Can I choose the practice field?

A:   No. On the registration form you can specify your preferred practice location. This is not "signing up for a team at this field or school", but a hint to be taken into account in team assignment. Many things affect practice field assignment, including whether the appropriate age and gender practices at that field, "cannot practice" days specified, team balancing, and number of requests for that field.

Q: Can I request a particular coach? To play with a friend?

A:   No, because of all the factors that have to be managed and balanced in team assignments for over 2000 kids, AYSO cannot honor requests to play with a specific coach or other player.

Q: Can I request a particular team or teammate because of carpooling concerns?

A:   No, because of all the factors that have to be managed and balanced in team assignments for over 2000 kids, AYSO cannot honor requests to play with a specific coach or other player. Most AYSO parents work and have other children and other activities, so carpooling is a common concern. Carpools is usually a subject at the pre-season team parents' meetings, and rosters show parent contact information that enables forming carpools for your team.

    Q: I missed walk-in registration. Can I still register?

A:   Online registration will remain available until the beginning of the season.

After Aug 1st, registrations are accepted on a space-available basis.

Q: How do I withdraw if I won't be able to play?

A:   We appreciate your letting us know if you find you will not be able to participate. Send an email to Registrar, Avivit Katzir or a written request to

    Palo Alto AYSO
    P.O. Box 1493
    Palo Alto, CA 94302
Include the player's name and birthdate.

If you would like a refund, include that as well. A request to refund a player's registration fee must be made in writing and received before September 15 for all divisions except Under-6, October 1 for Under-6. Refunds are issued late in the fall. For requests received after Aug 1st, we will deduct a $15 administrative fee. Due to insurance requirements, no refunds are allowed once a player has attended any practices or games.

Q: I can't remember my username or password.

A:   If you do not remember your account name or password, there is online password help. This will ask for phone number and a (registered) child's birthday and provide your username and allow you to reset your password. Click here for help. If that doesn't help, and you know you have an account, then email . Please include "AYSO" in the message title to help the volunteers with their spam filtering.

    Q: My account is "locked".

A:   If the system tells you your account is locked when you try to reset your password, it will be necessary for a human to unlock it. This can happen if you have tried several unsuccessful passwords in a row trying to login. Send email to . Please include "AYSO" in the message title to help the volunteers with their spam filtering.

Q: I get some kind of system error trying to log in.

A:   The WebYouthSoccer system that you are logging into is on a separate system. It is subject to different ISP problems and lightning storms than this web site. When this happens you might see error pages with messages like "TCP error" or "connection failure". Please try again a little later.

Q: It is complaining about "cookie problems".

A:   This could mean that you do not have cookies enabled in your browser. Another problem might be that you are accessing the web site through a caching proxy server such as is used in companies. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about that - you need to use a computer that's not behind such a proxy server. This should not be a problem if you are accessing the Internet from home.

If you cannot get past the cookie problem, you will need to come to a walk-in registration session, or do mail in registration.
