Welcome to another AYSO newsletter. It is hard to believe that June is just around the corner and that the end of the school year is less than three weeks away. If you have already registered for the upcoming fall season, thanks. If not, please consider doing so as soon as possible. We are going to start the team formation process earlier this year and your child needs to be registered before that happens in order to be placed on a team. Anyone registered after the start of team formation will be placed on a wait-list. In addition, the registration fee will increase from $95 to $150 starting July 1st. As of today, we have almost 1200 kids registered but our goal is to have 1800 kids registered before the end of the school year. To register your child, go to http://www.ayso26.org and click on the registration link. If you have registered your child, it is a good idea to go to our web-site and log-in. Upon doing so, you will see the status of your child. If you have not yet paid, then the status will show as preregistered. If you have paid, then the status will show as registered. Please verify your childfs status and that they are placed in the correct division. It is much easier to correct things now than in late August after the teams have been formed. Our goal is to start forming the teams in late July and early August. We are always on the lookout for parents wishing to be a coach or a referee. No prior experience is necessary. We do provide training. Without coaches and referees, we will not be able to form teams. Each year we tend to have more teams than coaches and this year we would love to break that habit. If you are interested in being a coach, assistant coach , co-coach or referee and want more information, just let me know and I will forward your request to the right person. We are still looking for division commissioners in the following divisions: G7, G8, B9 and B12. The division commissioner is responsible for forming the teams. If you are interested but feel that it may be too much work for one person, then let us know that. Several other divisions have two people run the division to lighten the work load. Without a division commission, no teams in that division will be formed, so if you have a child in one of the four divisions in need of a division commissioner, and are interested in the position, please let me know. Training and support is provided. There is still time to sign up for soccer camps. AYSO is offering 5 one-week sessions over the summer. To register or just get more information, go to www.aysosoccercamps.org. An alternative to AYSO soccer camps is World Cup Soccer Camps.
